It’s been a whole year since we ran our first sponsorship drive. We’ve been hard at work since then: we shipped Hanami 2.3, unified our ecosystem and launched Hanakai (plus this beautiful new site!), and shipped Hanami 3.0, our most complete release ever. Thanks to our sponsors’ financial support, I’ve been able to maintain at least one full working day on Hanakai every week over the last year. This has been crucial for achieving all of the above. It’s an honour to spend this time serving our community, and a privilege I don’t take lightly. This is why I also spent the last year writing weeknotes, to make our progress as clear and accessible as possible.

Last year, our goal was to unlock steady ongoing maintenance for the first time. And we did it! This year, we can take things to the next level and offer an honorarium to our active maintainers. Hanakai is all about community, and this will be another meaningful way to demonstrate this.

To make this happen, we need to raise at least another $15k+ for the year, and you can help:

What you’re supporting

We’ve got plenty on the go over the next year. For starters, another two Hanami releases! We do these twice a year now — tick tock, tick tock. We’ll be adding JRuby support, expanding upon our i18n support, introducing new guides for Rails developers, and sharing a preview of our very own langauge server. We’ll also begin work on a first-class extensions API to give third-parties the same access to the framework as Hanami’s own components.

There’s more! We have some exciting updates to Dry Operation and Dry CLI to release, and we’ll also be putting in the work on to address all open issues across our other Dry repos. We’ll also be diving back into Rom and plotting its own path into the future.
